History

In the beginning, we were known as Missouri Slope Lutheran Home.  The community saw an increasing need for a healthcare facility.

The foresight of local Lutheran church congregations, pastors, and community leaders led the effort to draft our articles of incorporation in 1962. With the official groundbreaking in 1965, a tradition of honesty, respect, quality, compassion, understanding, and respect was born.  Our building and services grew rapidly and in 1987, we became Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Inc.

We are officially a Social Ministry Organization of the ELCA.  Our organization has 9 corporate member ELCA churches that support our mission in many ways.  Over the years, we have grown tremendously.  Today, MLSCC stands as the largest nursing facility in six states with 258 beds.  In 2007, we added on to our assisted living facility bringing its total to 64 apartments.  We are a major employer in the Bismarck/Mandan community and we have a long standing reputation for providing excellent care and services.

Today, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center transcends the stereotype of nursing homes of old. Within its beautifully designed and decorated interiors, sunny courtyards, lovely views of the Missouri River Valley, and outstanding care provided by its professionals you will find peace of mind.
