We strive to provide an opportunity for each resident to express their talents, interests and capabilities in a manner that promotes personal fulfillment.
Special individual visits are made to those residents who are unable to participate in all of our general activities because of physical and/or mental challenges. These visits may include reading, music, sensory stimulation, or whatever is of benefit and interest to that person.

Music and Memory:
In 2013, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center became an accredited Music and Memory program provider. Healthcare and residential facilities worldwide have witnessed the effectiveness of using personalized music on iPod listening devices as a tool to reduce the use of narcotics for brain disease related behaviors, to assist with depression, and to provide a bridge to reminiscence and reality. Some residents are non-communicative, but still gain enjoyment from application of the iPod. Many residents prefer the solitude of their rooms to outside activities, and this individualized music can be a welcome treat.
Residents may be referred to the Activity Department by staff or family and iPods are provided as they become available.
Volunteer Opportunities:
If you are thinking about making a difference in someone’s life you’ve come to the right place! MSLCC has volunteer opportunities for getting residents to and from activities, playing games, assisting with bingo, craft projects, reading, visiting and providing instrumental or vocal music.
Please check out our Volunteer Information brochure for more details.
If you would like to volunteer please contact the Activity Department at 701-221-9368.
Adult Day Program:
We offer a relief from compassion fatigue, burnout and being confined at home through our day program. Participants spend the daytime with us and go home at night. Supervised services available for these needs include activities, meals and snacks. Hair care can be purchased for an additional charge. The Adult Day Program operates five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Participation can be scheduled for one-half or full days, one to five days a week according to individual needs.
